This outfit was constructed from second-hand denim jeans sourced from Good Stuff on Symonds Street.
After hearing how much of the beautiful textiles were deemed to go to landfill, I felt inspired to extend their lifespan by making something from the salvaged material. I hope to use my work to inspire others to look for the beauty and character in second-hand clothing. Prior to this project, I had no sewing or pattern making experience but huge enthusiasm for fashion. The headscarf featured in these photos was kindly borrowed from Good Stuff Symonds Street.
