Richard Maloy completed his MFA from the University of Auckland in 2001. He employs a multi-disciplinary practice including; sculpture, photography, installation, moving image with performativity and process as central modes.

Additional Information

Maloy has worked within the art education sector since 2008 and from 2012 to 2015 was a board member of Artspace Auckland. Maloy has also been on the selection panel for the Wallace Art Awards (2014,15,16,17) and Fulbright New Zealand Wallace Award (2014,15,16,17,18). Alongside his lecturing role at the College Maloy also co-ordinates the Gallery exhibitions and programs.

 

Maloy has exhibited in an array of significant exhibitions such as “Encounters”, a curated section of Art Basel Hong Kong 2016, and has also been the recipient of a number of awarded residencies including the Martin Tate Wallace Award, Vladivostok, Russia in 2019. Maloy is featured in many art collections locally and internationally and is featured in several publications about his practice.
