Rebecca’s practice and research explore the dynamic relationship between language, materiality, and the natural world through her interdisciplinary approach. Her installations often incorporate moving image, interactive and printed typographic works and ceramics, reflecting a deep curiosity about the concept of place, particularly within local landscapes, seeking to understand our ever-evolving environments.
Her active engagement in the creative community is evident through her participation in residencies, exhibitions, publications, awards, and conferences, fostering connections both nationally and internationally. Highlights include solo exhibitions “Time Beds” (Aratoi, Wairarapa Museum of Art and History) and “Talking Earth” (Corban Estate Arts Centre), the collaborative exhibition “Civic Pride” (Dunedin Public Art Gallery), and a residency in Finland leading to the creation of “Sky Radio” (RM Gallery). She has also contributed as a peer reviewer and presenter for prestigious platforms such as the Motion Design Education (MODE) Summit published by Routledge and an assessor for the ISTD Asia Pacific competition. She has been awarded residencies by the Caselberg Trust (Dunedin) and Driving Creek (Coromandel).
