Additional Information

In 1980, Heather Hohenberger and her husband bought and operated a manufacturing plant in Otorohanga, producing everyday men’s and women’s clothing. After four years, they moved the business to Auckland to open up more opportunities for staff and build additional contacts. With the tariffs lifted, they began working with outworkers, and after 20 years, they decided to pursue other ventures.

Heather then bought a café, where she learned new skills, with customer relations proving invaluable.

Her passion has always been in the textile industry. She has worked for NZ Fashion Technology, now Whitecliffe, for the past 19 years. During this time, she received her tertiary teaching certificate. This role provides great satisfaction as she shares her skills with students, watching them grow in both skills and confidence. She sees students forming lasting relationships and progressing together on their journeys.
