Additional Information

Mark’s design-led research is critically informed by his PhD thesis ‘BeWeDō: co-creating possibilities with movement’. In a nutshell, BeWeDō® focuses on mobilising human potential. The approach empowers people to discover and unlock their full potential through purposeful movement. Since 2016, BeWeDō has garnered international recognition in Slovenia, England, USA, Japan, Estonia, Finland, Australia, and New Zealand (most recently, at the ‘Mindset of Design 2022,’ ‘GEN NZ Unconference and Workshop,’ and ‘7th biennial ITAC conference’ in 2024) in the Leadership field and as a new method within the broad rubric of Design Thinking.

As part of the School of Design Innovation, Mark contributes to Whitecliffe’s ‘Postgraduate Committee’ and ‘Research and Ethics Committee’ and is the Chair and creator of *bounce* (a monthly research symposium). He brings a wide range of design and branding experience, from working with the multidisciplinary practice Designworks in Auckland and Melbourne to the global technology company Dimension Data. Mark considers himself a Design Technologist – a professional who combines design expertise with technical implementation. This involves integrating artificial intelligence components into the designing process, alongside maintaining a healthy respect for analogue approaches.
