Doula has a rich background in fashion design, having graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design and Technology from Wellington Polytechnic.

Her achievements include winning two awards at the DuPont Lycra Fashion Awards and gaining valuable experience with leading Wellington designers in various areas, such as design, pattern-making, CAD and production management.

Additional Information

With over 15 years of expertise in Adult Education and Training, Doula was recognized as the Highly Commended Tutor of the Year at the 2014 ITENZ Independent Tertiary Education Awards. Her deep-rooted appreciation for fine fabrics and well-crafted garments stems from her upbringing in a family tailoring business. Specializing in light apparel and lingerie, she enjoys the creative challenge of structural pattern design while valuing the comfort that natural fibres provide. Doula is passionate about sharing knowledge and fostering creativity within the fashion industry.

In addition to her extensive design and teaching experience, Doula has successfully taken on project management roles for several notable initiatives. She has managed projects like the Resene Colour of Fashion with Whitecliffe competition, the South Pacific Defence Minister Meeting shirt competition and the annual End-of-year Fashion Show showcasing our Wellington graduates. Her ability to oversee these diverse projects showcases her strong organizational skills and her commitment to excellence in the fashion industry.
