The Politics of Display

The Politics of Display is a studio based visual research project for second year BFA students entering the Fine Art, Photo and Video majors.

The project is based on a study of display strategies utilised by the Auckland War Memorial Museum with the aim of creating a work that critiques and interrogates contemporary and traditional museum display and curatorial practice. This enables the student to begin to locate their own visual research and cultural production within contemporary discourse in a critically relevant manner.
