International Students

Whitecliffe welcomes and encourages international student applications, acknowledging that international students add a special dimension to our campus. We realise that moving to a new country to take on tertiary study is a big step so we work hard to make sure the transition is as easy as possible for you.

Study requirements

Students must attend their classes in accordance with their visa requirements. Students are expected to spend 20 to 25 hours contact time (in class) per week plus another 15 hours per week studying and doing assignments.

Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students

Whitecliffe College of Arts & Design has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. Copies of the code are available on request from this institution or from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website at www.minedu.govt.nz/goto/international

Auckland has a public transport system which include bus, train and ferries. Most full-time students are eligible for a 20% discount on an adult multi-ride (10 trip) fare. For further information visit the MAXX website: http://www.maxx.co.nz/

International Student Liaison Officer (ILO)

We have an International Student Liaison Officer on campus who will guide international students through the application and admission processes. The ILO is available to advise and assist with any problems, including academic issues or complaints.
